Catering Information

Catering facilities

At Chertsey High School, we have Academy caterers who provide meals to students and staff for breakfast as well as during break and lunch times. No student is allowed off site during these times unless it is for a specific reason and we have had prior notification from the student’s parent/carer.

School meals are provided on a cafeteria basis with a free breakfast provided to every student. Students are encouraged to sit in the dining hall during lunch time and especially during inclement weather.  There are a number of picnic benches for students to use if the weather is fine and we encourage students to go outside for some fresh air before returning to the classroom.

Parents/carers on one of the following are entitled to claim free school meals:

  • Income Support
  • Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Child Tax Credit provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit, and have an annual income, as assessed by the Inland Revenue, that does not exceed £14,155.  Parents who receive Working Tax Credit in addition to Child Tax Credit do not qualify for free school meals.
  • Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
