"Every choice you make is powerful"
As in Year 8, we will continue to focus is on empowering students to recognise the importance of their choices as they continue their journey through secondary school. "Every choice you make is powerful," serves as a guiding principle for students to understand the impact of their decisions on their academic, personal, and social lives.
For the first time, students are asked to make decisions that go beyond the classroom and have long-term implications. The subjects they choose to study at GCSE can influence the courses they are able to take in the sixth form or college, as well as possible career routes later on. This makes Year 9 not just a transitional stage, but a vital moment of accountability. The Year 9 team will continue to create an environment where students feel supported while also encouraging them to take increasing responsibility for their actions.
