Year 11 Spring Mock Exams

Our Year 11 mock exams take place from Thursday 5th February to Thursday 5th March, with the majority of written exams happening in a focused two-week period, using full GCSE papers in most subjects. This structure gives you a realistic experience of what the summer exam season will feel like, while still protecting the valuable teaching time you need at this stage in the year. The first full week is intentionally busy so that teachers can mark and moderate your papers quickly, allowing us to give you accurate results and personalised feedback while it can still make the biggest difference to your progress.

Some subjects also include compulsory practical assessments, which can last several hours. These are carefully scheduled to ensure they take place well before the official GCSE practicals in the spring. Although the timetable is demanding — and in some cases includes three exams in a day — it reflects the reality of GCSE exam schedules. Throughout the mock period, staff will be on hand to support you, monitor your wellbeing, and help you manage the challenge effectively. We have also adjusted the order of certain exams to make sure students with access arrangements receive appropriate breaks and can maintain the same routines as the rest of the year group.

Overall, the mock timetable is designed to give you the most accurate picture of your current performance and to help us provide targeted support where it will have the greatest impact. It also ensures that as much high-quality teaching time as possible is protected in the run up to the real exams. Every part of the schedule has been planned to give you the strongest possible preparation for the summer.

You have worked hard to reach this point — trust your preparation, stay focused, and show yourself what you are capable of!

Top tips:

  1. Read through all the advice from your teachers in the links below.
  2. Use the right CGP revision guides or your exercise books to make simple revision cards, with a question on one side and the answer on the other. Follow the Leitner system of revision
  3. Alternatively watch short videos from the resource websites given in the guides

Remember, you may feel that motivation is lacking, but you can still commit to revision on a daily basis. The more you do, the more your motivation levels will rise.
