Strategic Priorities 2025 - 2026

Mission

We are proud to be a dynamic organisation which predicts and responds organically to the demands, challenges, and technological developments of life in the 21st century. We will support our children in accessing a curriculum which offers breadth, academic rigour, and opportunity regardless of background or starting point. An education at CHS will enable students to leave as members of the local and global community, equipped with the skills, experience and attributes to succeed in whichever pathway they choose.

Our priorities for the 25/26 academic year are:

1.  Assessment of the Inclusive Curriculum

  • Meaningful assessment leads to robust data collection, analysis and student progress
  • The feedback loop drives ongoing curriculum review and measurable intervention

2.  Inclusion

  • All staff understand their accountability in creating an inclusive community which breaks down barriers and helps students to overcome them and thrive
  • Vulnerable groups are identified and proactively supported to succeed

3.  Whole-school Literacy to support Progress

  • A schoolwide approach to connecting command words with assessment objectives is adopted
  • Vulnerable students are given targeted intervention

Throughout these focus areas run our commitment to embracing Digital Technology, harnessing its potential and equipping our students with skills for the future.

CHS Strategy and Development 2025-2026

The governing body sets the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school as well as challenge the capital, educational and financial plans. The Senior Leadership Team has responsibility for the overall running of the school and are accountable to the governing body and the Bourne Education Trust. The school's five-year priorities can be seen below:

Academic Success

1. Excellence in Learning and Achievement

We will secure consistently strong academic outcomes by ensuring that:

  • All students who attend well achieve at least a grade 4 in English and Maths, with many exceeding FFT20 expectations across subjects.
  • High-quality teaching, underpinned by evidence-based practice, enables all learners to make exceptional progress.
  • Our curriculum remains ambitious, adaptive and accessible, preparing students for success at GCSE and beyond.

The Inclusive School Community

2. A Flourishing and Inclusive Community

We will strengthen our community values and ensure every child experiences a happy, supportive and enriching school life by:

  • Working in close partnership with parents and carers to secure the best possible childhood for every young person.
  • Nurturing a culture of respect, kindness and belonging that reflects our values of Knowledge, Determination and Love.
  • Developing opportunities for students to contribute positively to both the school and the wider community.

Innovation and Responsibility

3. Innovation and Responsibility in a Digital Age

We will harness modern technology to maximise learning potential while safeguarding wellbeing by:

  • Embedding digital tools that enhance teaching, assessment and communication.
  • Equipping students with the skills and judgment to use technology safely, responsibly and effectively.
  • Working collaboratively with parents to minimise risks and promote healthy digital habits.

Preparing for the Future

4. Preparing for Future Pathways

We will open doors to life beyond school by:

  • Ensuring every student has access to high-quality careers education, information, advice and guidance.
  • Building strong links with employers, universities and training providers to broaden aspirations.
  • Supporting students to develop the skills, confidence and attributes they need to thrive in a global community
