Academic references
Students leaving Chertsey High School at the end of Year 11 to go on to further or higher education will need a reference from the school. This is likely to be in the form of an electronic reference which will ask for your latest school record. The information contained here is:
- Your name
- Your attendance and punctuality record
- The number of positive and negative incidents on your record
- The total number of House Points you have earned
In addition, the following information is given per subject:
- Your target grades (aspirational and school)
- Your current grade
- Your predicted grade
- Your mock grade
- Your attitude to learning (1-4)
- Your homework record (1-4)
If this format is not used, we will provide a standardised reference which can be viewed here:
Please note that the school does NOT need permission from a student to provide an academic reference.
Employment references
For references related to employment, students must contact the school in writing to the Headteacher c/o the School Office or by email to info@chertseyhighschool.co.uk requesting permission to provide a reference. This must include the name of the employer and details of the post applied for. Please note that we will not release a reference to a prospective employer without this. We provide a standardised reference which can be viewed here:
Part-time job references
Please note that it is school policy not to give references for part-time work for students who are still on roll at Chertsey High School.
Other requests
For all other requests, such as passport applications, please contact the School Office using the contact details provided above.
